Ibiza Beaches

Ibiza’s waters are amongst the cleanest in the Med and many of them are continually awarded the converted EC Blue Flags. In such a compact island, all of the beaches are easily reached by car and many by public transport. For a comprehensive list, check¬†Ibiza Spotlight however here are a few of our personal favourites.

Playa de Illetas
Not actually in Ibiza, but in neighbouring island Formentera. Hop onto one of the frequent ferries from Ibiza Town, then either hire a moped, cycle or car, or use a taxi to get to this stunning beach.

Las Salinas
The beach to be seen in Ibiza with some fabulous beach bars serving splendid local food. Playa des Cavallet is an adjacent nudist beach.

Cala Gracio
Nice beach cove north of San Antonio for families and quiet sun bathing. Beach bar serves locally caught fish. Beach side massages.

Cala Jondel
Overlooked by millionaires’ mansions and completely devoid of public transport this exclusive beach is a great place for lunch and a relaxing afternoon sun bathing. Eat at Yemanja – reservations on 971 18 74 81. Cala Jondel is located a few minutes drive off of the San Antiono – San Josep – Ibiza road.

Cala Longa
This is a lovely sandy beach with shallow waters situated a few kilometres north east of Ibiza Town. Lots of nearby shops for general beach necessities.

Cala Bassa
Ringed by low cliffs and sabina pines, this fine 250 metra wide sandy beach is one of the most popular in San Antiono Bay. It’s easily reachable by bus or ferry from San Antonio, which means that it does get busy in the high season. There are sun beds, umbrellas and lilos to rent along with three beachside cafes. The sparkling waters and multitude of activities on offer make it popular with the young and families alike.
